JULY 2012 MEDIA:
ANN CURRY JUST LEFT TODAY SHOW
Today show co-host Ann Curry broke down in tears as she said goodbye on NBC's morning show, apologizing to fans for not being able to 'take the ball all the way to the finish line'. Ann was accompanied on the sofa by Al Roker, Natalie Morales, and Matt Lauer - who supported her as she bid her tearful farewell, despite rumors he was the driving force in ousting her from the co-host chair. She said: 'This is not as I expected to ever leave this couch after 15 years, but I am so grateful, especially to all of you who watch because Matt and I - and everyone who sits on this couch - we often call ourselves a family, but YOU are the real Today show family'. The decisive moment came in the week of April 9 when GMA ended Today’s 16-year winning streak with 5.147 million viewers compared to Today‘s 5.134 million, a majority of 13,000.

JR's In-Depth Review:
"I really felt bad knowing that Ann Curry was leaving the NBC Today Show because of losing an amount of audience to ABC's Good Morning America. From 08 June 2011 - 28 June 2012, it was only a year of Ann Curry's hosting the Today Show. It was really a short amount of time for Ann Curry to prove herself on television. I think she did great knowing the fact that she has been a TV news correspondent for 15 years. Despite this, Ann Curry was reported to become Today's Anchor-at-Large and NBC News National and International Correspondent. I just wish that NBC will have their ratings move up to prove that this move was really a good one. I also wish Ann Curry good luck in her future endeavors with NBC News."
