Number of Episodes: 488
Running Time: 21 - 24 minutes
Location: Springfield, United States

Original Run: 17 December 1989 - present

About The Simpsons (from TV.com):
Originally created by cartoonist Matt Groening, "Our Favorite Family," has graced the small screen in one form or another for over 20 years. The Simpson family first appeared on television as the subjects of interstitial "shorts" on The Tracey Ullman Show in April of 1987. The Simpsons remained a staple on The Tracey Ullman Show for three seasons until they premiered in their own half-hour series, on December 17, 1989. With the help of Jim Brooks and Sam Simon, Matt Groening's cartoon family turned into an instant success. Set in Springfield, the average American town, the show focuses on the antics and everyday adventures of the Simpson family; Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie, as well as a virtual cast of thousands. Since the beginning, the series has been a pop culture icon, attracting hundreds of celebrities to guest star. The show has also made name for itself in its fearless satirical take on politics, media and American life in general. Currently in its 21st season, The Simpsons has piled up over 440 episodes, over 20 Emmy Awards, a handful of music albums, countless endorsements and merchandise, and even made the jump to the silver screen in the summer of 2007 with The Simpsons Movie. And according to Matt Groening, "There is no end in sight."

Why JR Loves This Show?
The Simpsons is my favorite TV show in JackTV. The Simpsons, after two decades of giving laughter to people worldwide, it is still standing strong and continuing its popular situation comedy. Though reportedly to end this 2011, The Simpsons has a lot of fans that it will kill the hearts of many if the show will end. The Simpsons remain one of JR's Favorite Cartoon Series in TV History. The Simpsons not just make a lot of individuals laugh but it also helps us express our opinions regarding our government and economy; that's what make The Simpsons unique from any other show.

Original Run (The Amazing Race Asia): 9 November 2006 - present

About The Amazing Race:
(American Edition)  At each destination, the Teams will compete in a series of tasks, some mental and some physical, before learning their next destination. Restricted plane travel and strict budgets will add to the pressure, as Teams are forced to rely on wit and ingenuity, perhaps sleeping on park benches or in bus stations and traveling on buses, trains, boats, taxis, bicycles, even camels. Teams farthest behind will be eliminated as the race progresses, and the first Team to arrive at the final destination wins US$1 million!
(Asian Edition) This Asian adaptation of the four time Emmy Award winning - reality competition series, The Amazing Race, will see ten teams of two from Asia going head to head with mental, physical and emotional obstacles all over the world. No one knows where they will be headed next or what challenges they have to face. From models to lovers, brothers to best friends, expect an intense no holds barred scramble to the finishing tarmac, where a prize money of US$100,000 awaits the winning team. The Amazing Race Asia promises to be a highly entertaining program not to be missed!

Why JR Loves This Show?
This show is actually my All-time Favorite Reality Show. Its Asian edition is probably the best show made by the cable TV network. What makes me love this show is how the teams deal with the different tasks that are prepared by the show's crew. Sometimes this tasks will push the teams to their very limit leading to them showing some emotional and physical distress which might then lead to them giving up. Its different destinations also make me like this show. These destinations makes me learn more about a particular country as well as remove my individual beliefs regarding those countries they have visited. I wish that one day, I can also be a part of The Amazing Race competition... not for the prize money but for the experience.

JR Late Night Fictional Celebrities of September 2011

No comments:

JR's Fictional Celebrities of September 2011Get back to JR's previous Fictional Celebrities of the Month lists:

Are music alter-ego characters the next big thing?
After two months of having movie characters dominating the list, two Lady Gaga alter-egos, three video game figures, and five TV fictional characters made this months list. Due to low publicity last month, Harry Potter drops to number two and Lady Gaga's male alter-ego Jo Calderone takes the top spot. This probably might mark the end of the Harry Potter era and the start of the Alter-Ego era. One surprising entry to this month's list was that of Bella Goth, one of Sims main characters. After the success of The Sims Social in Facebook, Bella Goth might ultimately defeat Samantha in terms of being the Most Popular Facebook Game Character. Also, Walden Schmidt, the new Two and a Half Men character made the list. He debut alongside with Peter Griffin, the Family Guy, and Captain Alex Mason, the captain in Call of Duty: Black Ops. Will Schuester returns while Captain Jack Sparrow, Mickey Mouse, and Kathy Beth Terry drops off this month's list. Will September bring us the biggest changes in Fictional Celebrity history?
