About The Amazing Race:
(American Edition)  At each destination, the Teams will compete in a series of tasks, some mental and some physical, before learning their next destination. Restricted plane travel and strict budgets will add to the pressure, as Teams are forced to rely on wit and ingenuity, perhaps sleeping on park benches or in bus stations and traveling on buses, trains, boats, taxis, bicycles, even camels. Teams farthest behind will be eliminated as the race progresses, and the first Team to arrive at the final destination wins US$1 million!
(Asian Edition) This Asian adaptation of the four time Emmy Award winning - reality competition series, The Amazing Race, will see ten teams of two from Asia going head to head with mental, physical and emotional obstacles all over the world. No one knows where they will be headed next or what challenges they have to face. From models to lovers, brothers to best friends, expect an intense no holds barred scramble to the finishing tarmac, where a prize money of US$100,000 awaits the winning team. The Amazing Race Asia promises to be a highly entertaining program not to be missed!

Why JR Loves This Show?
This show is actually my All-time Favorite Reality Show. Its Asian edition is probably the best show made by the cable TV network. What makes me love this show is how the teams deal with the different tasks that are prepared by the show's crew. Sometimes this tasks will push the teams to their very limit leading to them showing some emotional and physical distress which might then lead to them giving up. Its different destinations also make me like this show. These destinations makes me learn more about a particular country as well as remove my individual beliefs regarding those countries they have visited. I wish that one day, I can also be a part of The Amazing Race competition... not for the prize money but for the experience.

Original Run: 6 November 2011 - 24 May 2010

About 24:
Probably television’s most innovative drama series yet, 24 covers a 24-hour period, from midnight to midnight. Each episode reveals one hour in the life of the characters, told in real time. As the clock strikes 12, Jack Bauer, CTU operative, is forced to listen to his wife ranting about their rebellious teenage daughter Kimberly. But Jack can’t deal with family now – he has been summoned to his office. A Senator who is also a serious candidate for the US Presidency, is about to be assassinated. To make matters worse, it is believed that a mole within the unit is leaking information out of the CTU office, putting the perpetrators one step ahead of the lawmakers in a deadly game of cat and mouse. Meanwhile, Kimberly is having some fun of her own – but soon, she will know that she is part of a kidnapping plot – and in real trouble. ...and the clock ticks on.

Why JR Loves This Show?
24 is one of the shows in AXN that I always watch. 24 is probably the best crime action series in the history of TV. Its 24-hour concept makes this show one of my favorites. Besides from saving the United States from notorious criminals (as well as the United States President from assasinators), Jack Bauer's life is another thing that is best to monitor in the show. His character is also somewhat kind (besides from being serious) as he saves not just the citizens of his country but also those people suffering from war attacks (like South Africans). Now, what is left for me to wait is the 24 film that will be released on 2012.

Original Run (CSI Miami): 23 September 2002 - present

About CSI:
(New York) CSI: NY, a crime drama inspired by CSI: Crime Scene Investigation is about forensic investigators who use high-tech science to follow the evidence and solve crimes in the Big Apple.
(Miami) Adrenaline levels are running high in CSI: Miami, as the Crime Scene Investigators tackle their personal battles while investigating the crimes that seem to get gristlier by the day.

Why JR Loves This Show?
CSI is probably the most watched TV show in AXN; and there's no doubt that JR will include this show in his list. CSI: Miami and CSI: New York are JR's Favorite CSI TV Shows. Though somewhat fictional and fast, CSI give us a concrete idea how crime solvers solve some of today's mysterious and heinous crimes. Science also makes up the show's concept. As we can notice, both these shows also teach us some of Chemistry's deadly chemicals and Physics' surprising ballistics and facts. After a hard day of search and labor, the crime team of Det. Horatio Caine and Det. Mac Taylor gives hope and opportunity for those who have suffered deep tragedy.

The Voice
The Voice

Genre: Talent Show
Hosted by: Carson Daly
Judges: Christina Aguilera, Cee-Lo Green, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton
Executive Producer: John De Mol, Mark Burnett
Created by: John De Mol, Roel van Velzen

Number of Seasons: 1
Number of Episodes: 12
Running Time: 1 hour (Battle Rounds), 2 hours (Blind Auditions)
Location: Warner Brothers Lot 16 in Los Angeles, United States
Distributor: Endemol-Talpa
Original Run: 26 April 2011 - present

About The Voice:
Looks don’t matter. Only The Voice matters. The BIGGEST NEW Show from the U.S. In a ground breaking new singing competition, four superstar coaches began to select teams of eight based solely on an artist's voice. Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Blake Shelton and Adam Levine, are competing as coaches - each one hoping to discover, and nurture America's next great voice. The show started with the Blind Auditions, where the coaches had their backs turned as the artists sang. When a coach was blown away by what they heard, they hit a button, their chair turned and the artist landed a spot that coach’s team. But if more than one coach turned, the power shifted and the artist got to pick which coach they wanted to work with and it was up to the coaches to convince the artist to join their team. If none of the coaches pushed their button, the artist went home.

Why JR Loves This Show?
During the promotion of this show, JR really had no intention of watching the show as he hs doubts that it will just be another spin-off of The American Idol. But when JR accidentally saw its blind auditions, JR got addicted to watching its shows. It is very different from The X Factor and The American Idol where they critic the voices, as well as the physical appearances, of the contestants very harsh (very much) leading to them being hurt in the end. The Voice helps the contestants become inspired if they are chosen and become better if not. In this show, it is not the looks that matter but "the voice" each individual has. That makes it distinct from any other reality shows.

Created by: Magical Elves Production

Number of Seasons: 9
Number of Episodes: 90
Running Time: 60 minutes

Distributor: Bravo Originals
Original Run: 26 April 2011 - present

About Top Chef:
The popular number one food reality show Top Chef comes back for a spiced-up sixth installation. Seventeen aspiring chefs compete for their shot at culinary stardom and brave the pressure-filled kitchen to see if they have what it takes to clinch the prestigious title of “Top Chef”. Actress and host Padma Lakshmi presides over the judge’s table with head judge Tom Colicchio, renowned culinary figure and owner of Craft Restaurants and judges Gail Simmons and Toby Young. Guest judges are also invited to taste what these chef’testants have to offer on their plates weekly.

Why JR Loves This Show?
Besides from reality game shows and reality talent competitions, another thing that JR likes is FOOD. When Top Chef was announced by AXN that it will be premiering in its cable network this year, JR really gave time for himself to watch all of its episodes. The dishes and challenges are the things that qualify this show into the list. JR sometimes search for the recipes of the dishes in the show in the internet as he finds it very interesting to critic. Another thrilling thing in this show is how the chefs react to the critics of the judges, it is surprising to see that they sometimes fight with the judges just for them to defend and prove themselves. This probably might be the reason for it to defeat the 7-year streak record of The Amazing Race for being The Outstanding Reality-Competition Program last 2010 (however, it failed to maintain its title this 2011).

Ghost Adventures
Ghost Adventures

Genre: Paranormal Documentary
Hosted by: Zak Bagans, Nick Groff, Aaron Goodwin
Executive Producer: Zak Bagans, Nick Groff
Created by: Zak Bagans, Nick Groff

Number of Seasons: 5
Number of Episodes: 53
Running Time: 45 minutes
Locations: Around The World
Distributor: Travel Channel
Original Run: 17 October 2008 - present

About Ghost Adventures:
A trio of ghost hunters will interview eyewitnesses and historians at locations that are reportedly haunted. Arming themselves with the stories of the ghosts they will later provoke and confront during their dusk-to-dawn lockdowns. (Note: They don't always come out unscathed!) Then they'll review and analyze their findings with some the most respected experts and specialists in the paranormal field.

Why JR Loves This Show?
Ghosts! Another thing that JR looks for in a cable TV network. When Ghost Adventures was given a one season preview in AXN, JR gave more priority to it that any other shows from any other cable TV network (and besides it is the show before Top Chef). It is not the comedy of Zak Bagans scaring himself that makes this show my favorite but their proving to the people from around the world that ghosts are existing. They prove to us people that there is indeed another being that lives with us in this world and those are the paranormal and supernatural beings. I wish that AXN gave this show a full preview... but I do understand that I should also call my local TV operator/subscriber for them to add AXN Beyond in my TV network listings.

Hawaii Five-O
Hawaii Five-O

Genre: Police Procedural Drama
Starring: Alex O' Loughlin, Scott Caan, Daniel Dae Kim, Grace Park
Executive Producer: Peter Lenkov, Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci
Created by: Leonard Freeman

Number of Seasons: 2
Number of Episodes: 28
Running Time: 42 minutes
Location: O'ahu, Hawaii, United States
Distributor: CBS Television
Original Run: 20 September 2010 - present

About Hawaii Five-O:
Detective Steve McGarrett, a decorated Naval officer-turned-cop, returns to Oahu to investigate his father's murder and stays after Hawaii's Governor persuades him to head up the new team: his rules, her backing, no red tape and full blanket authority to hunt down the biggest "game" in town. Joining McGarrett is Detective Danny "Danno" Williams, a newly relocated ex-New Jersey cop - a working man in paradise who prefers skyscrapers to the coastline - but who's committed to keeping the Islands safe for his 8-year-old daughter; and Chin Ho Kelly, an ex-Honolulu Police Detective, and former protégé of McGarrett's father, wrongly accused of corruption and relegated to a federal security patrol.

Why JR Loves This Show?
The only show in the list that is a adaptation of a TV show from the past is Hawaii Five-O. Hawaii Five-O (2010 Version) is adapted from the Hawaii Five-O (1968 Version). The storyline is different. The characters are different. Lieutenant Commander Steven McGarret is a bit younger in the new version of the TV series. And the different crimes involved in the updated version of the show are more serious and graver than the early one. Comparing from the original version of the series, ... probably, it's not good to compare both as both are really great and incomparable in terms of storyline thrill and excitement. JR really favors crime dramas as they don't only tell how police investigate crimes but they also tell some hidden cultures of localities that are not known to many.

Original Run: 28 June 2008 - present

About WipeOut:
With a touch of Fear Factor gruesomeness thrown in. Each week, contestants go through obstacle courses in a bid to win the US$50,000 prize money. Imagine having to eat a disgustingly large lunch and other foods, Fear Factor style, before having to execute crazy stunts such as fighting with giant boxing gloves, or running on giant floating rubber balls! Wipeout is designed to literally wipe out the contestants.

Why JR Loves This Show?
WipeOut is just your regular Japanese-adapted game show wherein contestants are literally going into a hell of a ride. Contestants in this show are challenged to past to a series of test that will include some of the show's trademarks: the sucker punch & the big balls. This game show will push the contestants to their limits. (when talking about limits, I mean literally). The contestants give us an example of how flexible our body is, how fast our body is and how well-coordinated our body is. Though people usually laugh at the different ways of how each contestant does a task, the show is a serious test of physical strength and application of physics.

About Supernatural:
Twenty-five years ago, Sam Winchester and Dean Winchester lost their mother to a mysterious and demonic supernatural force. Subsequently, their father raised them to be soldiers. He taught them about the paranormal evil that lives in the dark corners and on the back roads of America ... and he taught them how to kill it. Now the Winchester brothers crisscross the lonely and mysterious back roads of the country in their '67 Chevy Impala hunting down every evil supernatural force they encounter along the way.

Why JR Loves This Show?
Paranormal is another world people should learn to share with. In the drama Supernatural, they take it to the next level. They just not become friends with spiritual forces but they also fight with some of the most strongest and most evil demons. Like your regular Charmed, Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel tv series, Supernatural engages individuals into a battle with evil forces; the only difference is that in Supernatural, two human beings are battling against them not witches or vampires. We learned tradition but we must also know how to fight using tradition - our mind, our body, and our spirit.
