METHODOLOGY
The JR Late Night Celebrities of the Year list is a yearly list in JR Late Night Blogs which is based from Forbes' Yearly Celebrity 100 List and Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential People List. The Celebrities of the Year List lists the Most Powerful, Most Influential, Most Controversial and Most Popular Celebrities of the past year basing on News and Print Publicity (15%), TV Publicity (15%), Blog Publicity (30%), Social Media Popularity (30%), Worldwide Recognition (7%), JR's Celebrity Ranking (3%), and their appearances in JR Late Night Blogs' Celebrities of the Month lists. News and Print Rank is based from the total number of related articles of a celebrity from Google News. TV Publicity Rank is based from the total number of mentions of that celebrity in TMZ, and E! Entertainment. Blogosphere Rank is based from the total number of Google blog search results of the celebrity within the whole time frame of the past year. Another basis is the Social Media Rank which is based from the over-all total of Facebook Fans and Twitter Followers of that celebrity. Worldwide Recognition Rank is a special basis of finding the top celebrities since it considers the total number of search results of the particular celebrity in Google for the past month. JR's Celebrity Ranking was used as a balancer in cases of ties and other situations. The ranks accumulated would then be processed using an algorithm made by JR; the lower the rank score, the better the chances of getting a high rank. In the chosing of celebrities, JR chose 10 Musicians, 10 Athletes, 10 Actors/Actresses, and 10 Personalities. All data were as of the time range: 01 January 2011 - 31 December 2011.
