JR releases the third annual Pinoy Celebrities of the Year list. For a second time, Manny Pacquiao grabbed the top spot in this year's Pinoy Celebrities of the Year list. He is still the Philippines' Most Powerful and Most Popular. Close behind is a new member to the yearly list, Anne Curtis. Manny Pacquiao's lead is in entire danger as this celebrity is dominating TV and social media lately. Another surprise this year is the leap of Cristine Reyes from #16 to #5. It's the greatest leap this year and the second greatest leap in JR Late Night Blogs history. Still staying in his spot is Richard Gutierrez who had been involved in a lot of controversies last 2011. He is not just 4th in the list but he is also the 2nd Most Powerful Celebrity in GMA-7 (behind Manny Pacquiao). He is also the Philippines' Most Popular TV star grabbing a #1 rank in TV Publicity. Kiefer "The Phenom" Ravena and Phil Younghusband also enters this year's list. Sports had been giving them huge publicity. Another notable entrant to this year's list is AJ Perez who passed away last April 2011. His death has brought him social media attention. This is the third time in JR Late Night Blog history that a celebrity has been listed after gaining attention due to the media announcing their death (Michael Jackson being the first and Cory Aquino being the second). TV5 also makes their presence felt in this year's list as Willie Revillame grabs #18 and Vic Sotto grabs #21. However, ABS-CBN made 18 entries in this year's list (up by 4 entrants). The said network is still the Philippines' Most Powerful and Most Popular in terms of stars or celebrities. Now, JR presents the latest list of the Elite.

"Anne Curtis goes fresh at #2. Other than hosting Philippines' most popular noontime variety show - ShowTime, last 2011, Anne Curtis starred in the second highest grossing Philippine film of All Time. No Other Woman became the highest grossing film in Philippine history with Php 278.39 million gross earnings until, one week later, The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin earned more than Php 300 million gross earnings. With that being said, Anne Curtis, together with Cristine Reyes, stands as the Philippines' newest box office queens. Her entry in JR's Pinoy Celebrities of the Year is due to her being the first Pinoy celebrity to reach a million followers in Twitter (which she achieved last 2011). "The Queen of All Media loses one rank this year. "AJ Perez may be gone but he's presence is felt in JR's Pinoy Celebrities of the Year list. It's the third time in JR Late Night Blog history to have a celebrity who passed away to be listed in JR's Celebrities of the Year lists. Last 2009, Michael Jackson was listed in JR's Celebrities of the Year list at #8 after earning worldwide recognition and lots of private and public tributes after his death. It was also last 2009 that Corazon Aquino was listed at the top of JR's Pinoy Celebrities of the Year list after receiving huge amount of support from Filipinos worldwide. This 2011, JR lists AJ Perez posthumously in the Pinoy Celebrities of the Year lists as he gained a lot of sympathies from his fans through all forms of media. His death was talked about through the different social media platforms. It was also expressed in different blogs of Pinoy teens. This resulted to his death trending in the internet, especially through the different social media networks (Facebook and Twitter). Despite passing away at an early age, he has influenced a lot of young teens in pushing through with their dreams. Though this might be the last time that we will see AJ Perez in JR's Pinoy Celebrities of the Year lists, he had indeed made an indelible mark in Philippine showbiz history.
