PLOT
"A teenage girl risks everything when she falls in love with a vampire."
Bella Swan has always been a little bit different. Never one to run with the crowd, Bella never cared about fitting in with the trendy, plastic girls at her Phoenix, Arizona high school. When her mother remarried and Bella chooses to live with her father in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington, she didn't expect much of anything to change. But things do change when she meets the mysterious and dazzlingly beautiful Edward Cullen. For Edward is nothing like any boy she's ever met. He's nothing like anyone she's ever met, period. He's intelligent and witty, and he seems to see straight into her soul. In no time at all, they are swept up in a passionate and decidedly unorthodox romance - unorthodox because Edward really isn't like the other boys. He can run faster than a mountain lion. He can stop a moving car with his bare hands. Oh, and he hasn't aged since 1918. Like all vampires, he's immortal...

TRIVIAS

Kristen Stewart has naturally green eyes. She wears brown contacts for filming to match Bella's eye color.
Kellan Lutz intended on keeping his natural curly hair for the role of Emmett Cullen. However, his previous role in "Generation Kill" (2008) required a buzz cut and his hair didn't grow fast enough for the filming of Twilight (2008/I).
Henry Cavill was Stephenie Meyer's first choice to play Edward. However, but by the time production was to begin, he was 25 years old, and no longer looked the part of a 17-year old. He was then offered the part of Carlisle Cullen but turned it down due to his commitment with "The Tudors" (2007).
For the role of Edward Cullen, Robert Pattinson flew from England to director Catherine Hardwicke's house to audition. There, he and Kristen Stewart, who was already cast as Bella Swan, rehearsed the "Love Scene"/"Meadow Scene" on Hardwicke's own bed.
Taylor Lautner had to wear a wig for his role as Jacob Black.
Over 5,000 actors auditioned for the role of Edward.
According to a July interview between network.nationalpost.com and director Catherine Hardwicke, Kristen Stewart was recommended for the role of Bella Swan by Emile Hirsch, her co-star from Into the Wild (2007) and whom Hardwicke directed in Lords of Dogtown (2005).
The script was finished in 6 weeks.
Robert Pattinson stated in an interview that this is his first American role and he had no formal training to perfect his American accent.
When the 'evil vampires' make their first appearance, actors Cam Gigandet, Rachelle Lefevre and Edi Gathegi are all wearing little slippers painted like bare feet.
Jessica in the movie is a combination of the characters Jessica Stanley and Lauren Mallory from the book.
Eric in the movie is a combination of the characters Eric Yorkie and Ben Cheney from the book.
Kristen Stewart wore hair pieces so they didn't have to waste time doing her hair, and therefore had more time to shoot.
Kristen Stewart turned eighteen while filming the movie and was rewarded with a birthday cake - and a full night of shooting.
Nikki Reed (Rosalie Hale) and Jackson Rathbone (Jasper Hale) learned how to play baseball left-handed for the famous baseball scene.
Stephenie Meyer claims these authors partially inspired her: Jane Austen, Orson Scott Card, Shakespeare, and Charlotte Bronte
Christian Serratos wore her own glasses for her part as Angela Weber.
When Bella is searching the internet and finds the link for the bookstore in Port Angeles, the link above it is for Little Brown. Little Brown is the publisher of the Twilight Saga.
Before casting, Robert Pattinson had never heard of the Twilight novel. He only attended casting because he liked Kristen Stewart's performance in Into the Wild (2007).
MTV Films and Maverick Films were the original owners of the rights to produce the film. Paramount was set as the distributor. Eventually MTV Films wasn't able to get a script they felt was good enough for the film and Summit Entertainment ended up getting the rights and actually producing and distributing the film.
With its $69.6 million opening weekend gross the movie had the biggest opening ever for a film directed by a woman, and also for a film starring a woman.
At the cafeteria salad bar, Bella drops an apple which Edward picks back up and then cradles in his hands, copying the cover image of the Twilight novel. On the one of the DVD's special features Catherine Hardwicke said that took them 13 takes to get it right.
Stephenie Meyer cited the band Muse as her source of inspiration to write her books, and another of her favorite groups is Linkin Park. Both bands contributed a song to the movie's soundtrack.
Kristen Stewart's stunt double, Katie Powers, also plays a waitress at the diner.
During the filming of the prom scene, Kristen Stewart didn't like the songs playing so suggested 'Flightless Bird, American Mouth' by Iron and Wine which they decided to use.
In almost every scene involving a television, the ending ballet studio scene is being played.
Robert Pattinson performed two songs in the movie, however only one of these songs, "Never Think," appears on the soundtrack. His other song, "Let Me Sign", is a bonus track.
In the hospital scene, when Bella and her mother are talking about the accident, the TV in the background can be seen playing the previous scene.
It took 36 hours to turn Nikki Reed's naturally brunette hair to blonde.
All of the Cullens can be seen wearing jewelry with the same symbol on it. Edward, Jasper, and Emmett all had the same wristband, and Alice and Rosalie had similar necklaces with the symbol on it; Esme had a bracelet and Carlisle had a ring.
The jacket worn by Solomon Trimble in the LaPush beach scene was handmade by his mother from a Pendleton blanket.
Robert Pattinson unknowingly contributed two songs to this film. Apparently, he didn't know that "a mysterious third party" had given the director a copy of music he had recorded years ago. She decided to use two of the songs, and he was surprised to hear them when viewing early film footage. The songs are: "Never Think" [playing during the restaurant scene] and "Let Me Sign" (plays during the scene where Edward has to drink Bella's blood to save her). Pattinson said he was overwhelmed by how well "Let Me Sign" fit into the film.
Stephenie Meyer wrote a parallel novel (unfinished) to "Twilight" called "Midnight Sun". It tells the story of the first book from Edward's point of view. In it, he comments that the arrival of Bella to the school has all of the boys "acting like they're in first grade and she's the shiny new toy". This thought is spoken aloud by Jessica during Bella's first lunch in the cafeteria.
The original release date for Twilight (2008/I) was December 12, 2008. When the release date for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009) was moved from November 21, 2008, to July 17, 2009, Twilight's release date was moved forward to November 21 in a attempt to fill the Harry Potter gap.
Catherine Hardwicke has said that she filmed a scene with Robert Pattinson taken directly out of "Midnight Sun", the unfinished novel by Stephenie Meyer telling the story of Twilight through Edward's perspective. According to her, this scene will be on the DVD.
The Cullen family crest (seen worn by all the Cullens) is a lion with a hand over its head, and a downward pointing chevron with 3 clovers. The lion was added because of the famous line "And so the Lion fell in love with the Lamb", but the other portions (chevron, clovers, and hand) are from the actual Cullen Coat of Arms, although there are fewer clovers (2), more hands (3), and a sheaf of wheat on the real one.
Even though there is a song by Radiohead in the movie, it never made it to the official soundtrack album.
Stephenie Meyer had her own personal cast before all the roles were officially casted. They including Emily Browning as Bella Swan, Henry Cavill as Edward Cullen, Charlie Hunnam as Carlisle Cullen, Mary-Louise Parker as Esme Cullen, Rachael Leigh Cook as Alice Cullen, Trent Ford as Jasper Hale, Tom Welling as Emmett Cullen and Olivia Wilde as Rosalie Hale.
Nikki Reed was the one who got the producers to add Robert Pattinson's songs to the film. Reed secretly started recording him from her laptop, while he was singing, and playing his guitar. She then took it to the film producers, were they fell in love with his songs. The next day, they asked Rob if he could sing a few of his songs for the soundtrack, and he accepted.
The movie was shot in 48 days.
Cam Gigandet was originally cast as Emmett Cullen, but asked director Catherine Hardwicke if he could play the role of James instead. She agreed.
The beer that Charlie drinks in the movie is "Rainier Beer", a brewing company originally based out of Seattle, Washington. Charlie refers to it as "vitamin R", which is a common nickname for Rainer Beer.
Robert Pattinson actually plays the piano in the scene where Edward is playing "Bella's Lullaby".
The song playing on the background when Bella comes to "have dinner" at the Cullen's is the aria "Libiamo" from La Traviata. "Libiamo" literally means "Let's Drink", which is exactly what the Cullens do when they "have dinner".
When Bella and Edward are lying in the meadow, the sun coming through the trees makes a heart between them.
Prior to the release of the soundtrack featuring Carter Burwell's scored theme of "Bella's Lullaby", Yiruma's piano composition, "River Flows in You", was largely and erroneously believed by many fans to be featured in the movie as the lullaby. This was due to a popular fan site including the piece by Yiruma on a playlist of songs that served as their personal soundtrack for the Twilight book. While this song was how the fan site imagined the lullaby to sound (and subsequently thousands of fans online), it was never a part of the movie.
Matt Bellamy of Muse gave Carter Burwell music for Bella's Lullaby, but it wasn't used.
While entering the building at the prom, Victoria can be seen at a slot machine to the right of Bella, her hair in a bun, fur, and dress.
As soon as Robert Pattinson was cast, he moved to Oregon and began working on his character, both physically and mentally. He worked out five hours a day with a trainer: learning to fight, play baseball, and do stunts. He also had to learn to drive and get an Oregon driver's license.
When Edward enters the cafeteria, Robert Pattinson's sister, Lizzie, can be heard singing vocals on the soundtrack.
Robert Pattinson moved to Oregon a few weeks before filming began and didn't talk to anyone to try and feel as isolated as Edward Cullen.
The apple on the cover of the book is not only a symbol for the forbidden; in Scandinavian mythology the apple is a symbol for eternal youth and beauty. However, on her official website 'Stephanie Meyer' states that she used the apple on the book cover because of the past literary connections (causing trouble every time) like in Snow White and the Golden Apple Paris gives to Aphrodite in Greek Mythology and because to her apple represents "choice".
The first scenes filmed for the movie were the ballet room showdown and the baseball scene as Cam Gigandet had to leave the set to shoot another movie.
 Edward's car is a Volvo C30.
The dress Kristen Stewart wears in the prom scene was only twenty dollars. The suit Robert Pattinson wore was the most expensive item of clothing from the entire shoot.
When Carlisle bit Edward, he whispered something into his ear. The first time it was "I'm sorry" then "My son". On about the fifth take he said, "You're sexy".
In the kissing scene Kristen is wearing one of director Catherine Hardwicke's shirts.
The playing cards used during the prom were from Rio, a Las Vegas casino.
In the hospital scene at the end with Edward and Bella there is a drawing of the ballet studio.
In the scene where Bella goes to the Cullens house for the first time, when Nikki Reed's character had to break the bowl, she actually cut her hands. This is why she is wearing gloves for the scene in the film.
When the high school students are getting ready for prom, Eric tells Bella he'll need to borrow her iPod for dance music. 'Kristen Stewart' (Bella) actually suggested the song "Flightless Bird, American Mouth" by Iron and Wine to play during the dance scene Bella shares with Edward at prom.
Peter Facinelli was the second choice to play Carlisle Cullen. When he found out that he lost out on the final round of auditions, he wrote a note to Catherine Hardwicke, saying, "I hope to work with you sometime." At the last minute before shooting, the original actor withdrew due to shooting conflicts. Hardwicke then offered the role to Facinelli, who immediately took up. He had to dye his hair blond before starting work.
While doing location scouting work in La Push, Catherine Hardwicke and the crew saw people surfing and suggested to screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg to add beach surfing scene. Rosenberg agreed and added it but the scene had to be scrapped because of budget constraints.
In the script, the climatic Bella's "limbo" scene was intended to be an underwater sequence but budget constraints will not allow the scene to be filmed. As the alternative, outtakes from other scenes of Bella and Edward together were used, albeit digitally modified.
Bryce Dallas Howard was offered the role of Victoria but turned it down as she found the role too small. She later took the role when Summit Entertainment fired Rachelle Lefevre from Eclipse (2010/I).
In addition to Robert Pattinson and Jackson Rathbone among the 4 finalists for the role of Edward, the other two, according to Catherine Hardwicke were Ben Barnes and Shiloh Fernandez. Rathbone was eventually offered the other role of Jasper instead.
When Edward and Bella are standing in the doorway of the Cullens' kitchen, there is a chess set on the dining room table behind them with red and white pieces, like the cover of 'Breaking Dawn', the final novel in Stephenie Meyer's 'Twilight' saga.
The red contacts worn by Laurent, Victoria, and James were hand-painted by the director, Catherine Hardwicke.

CAMEO[Stephanie Meyer] The author of the original books can be seen next to a laptop ordering a vegetarian sandwich in the diner at the beginning of the scene where Charlie asks Bella if she likes the boys in town.

GOOFS

I. REVEALING MISTAKES (18 Goofs)
Throughout the film, various vampire's faces are paled out, but not their ears and necks. In one of the cafeteria scenes, Robert Pattinson's ears are extremely red.
When Dr. Cullen treats Bella in the E.R., the x-ray on the upper left behind him is upside down.
When Bella is on Edward's back and they are running up the mountain Bella's hair lies flat as if it she were standing. However, if they were going at the speed implied her hair would have been blowing back.
In the final credits, "Emmett" is misspelled.
In the baseball scene, Rosalie's hat has a "G" on it instead of a "C".
Throughout the movie, the vampires' contact lenses are clearly visible in close-ups.
Robert Pattinson's American accent seems to slip into his native British accent several times.
Clair de Lune is incorrectly listed in the credits as "Claire" de Lune.
After Angela secretly takes a picture of Bella, she looks at the back of the camera as if to check the picture. But there is a cover over the LCD screen so this would be impossible. It also happens after she takes a picture later in the film.
When Bella goes to meet the Cullens. Esme has a large dark line on her forehead near her hairline which is actually her natural skin showing next to the pale makeup skin.
When we first meet James (the boat scene) part of his "godspeed" tattoo on his left hip is visible.
In the baseball scene when Emmett and Edward were running to catch Carlisle's ball you can visibly see them (especially Emmett) jump up on something and hear the sound of a trampoline.
In the scene where Edward passes Billy and Jacob on the road, Billy is driving a car. Billy is paralyzed from the waist down, he wouldn't be able to operate the pedals, and therefore couldn't drive - it's a borrowed car and therefore unlikely to be modified.
During Bella and Edward's "formal" introduction in the biology classroom, Edward's makeup changes between shots - his face is ALWAYS gray but his neck and ears are not. It's particularly noticeable as they leave the classroom after - you can see where the makeup stops a few centimeters down his neck and reveals his natural skin color.
When Bella comes to school in the beginning of the movie, you can see a group of people playing hackisac. They are clearly pretending, and are all moving at the same time as if they were all getting the hackisac simultaneously.
The pepper spray that Charlie gives Bella has a green label. A green label means it is a "training canister" and contains water instead of pepper spray for training purposes. Canisters containing actual pepper spray have red labels.
The first dinner where Bella and Charlie are eating dinner, Bella has a garden burger with fries. They both reach for the ketchup and Charlie gives it to Bella. In one of the following scenes, Bella is shaking the ketchup bottle and squeezing it, but there's no ketchup coming out of the bottle, yet she places it down as if she's done using it.
When Bella and Edward are discussing her theories at the salad bar, you can see Robert Pattinson mouthing the words "radio active spiders and kryptonite" as Kristen Stewart says them.

II. FACTUAL ERRORS (3 Goofs)
Many of the flags in the cafeteria are wrong. The Kenyan flag (green, red and black, with a shield) is upside down; the black stripe should be at the top. Another flag is blue, white, and red, with a red star. This is a Yugoslav flag from before the breakup of the country in the 1990's and is no longer used.
Near the end of the closing credits, a few counties are thanked for their help during filming. Clallam is misspelled "Clallum".
In the scene where Bella is doing research on vampires, there is an illustration portraying a vampire in the Indian legends. However the original picture illustrates the devil in the biggest medieval manuscript, the Codex Gigas.

III. ERRORS IN GEOGRAPHY (2 Goofs)
In the dress shop, two flags are in front of the building across the street; the American flag and the Oregon flag (blue with a yellow symbol). Washington's flag is green with a picture of George Washington.
During the La Push Beach scene, a lighthouse can be seen in the background. There is not a lighthouse at La Push. The lighthouse is actually Tillamook Rock Lighthouse, about 2 miles off shore at Cannon Beach (Oregon Coast).

IV. ERRORS MADE BY CHARACTERS (4 Goofs)
In the book, it is clearly said that the Cullens never touch the food on their plates. The only time that they do eat is when Bella asks Edward if he can eat food, and he takes a bite of pizza. Even so, in the movie, you can see Emmett eating in the background of a cafeteria scene. (as stated by Stephenie Meyer, they had to keep re-shooting this scene because he kept accidentally eating).
After Edward saves Bella from the group of men. While driving through town he passes a car, if you look at the road its a double solid line (which is no passing).
During the baseball game when Rosalie is called out by Bella, with the correct signal, Emmett, happy with the call, yells "out", but gestures the "safe" call.
In the book, the bite from James is on Bella's palm and she is screaming about the burning in her hand. In the movie, the bite is on her arm, yet she is still screaming about her hand.

V. EQUIPMENT / CREW VISIBLE (10 Goofs)
When Edward tells Bella "you better hold on tight, spider monkey" you can see his harness pulling his shirt up.
When Bella is wearing a green shirt in her bedroom, you can clearly see the audio wire under her shirt when she lifts her arms up to do something.
When Edward passes Billy and Jacob Black on the road, a man with a cap and equipment is visible in the window.
When Bella first arrives to her bedroom at Charlie's, as she stands near her bed, you can see a black wire between her jeans and her sweater.
In the scene where Bella and Charlie first go into Charlie's house and they are going into Bella's room, there is a shoulder of a crew member in the shot. It is next to the door frame on the right side.
When Bella and Edward first ride to school as a couple, Edward very courteously opens Bella's door on the Volvo. The crew and a mic are clearly visible as he opens the door.
In the baseball scene when Edward is chasing Rosalie's ball, the string tied to it is visible when it is on the ground.
When Bella is being hounded by the men in Port Angeles, you can clearly see somebody standing on a stairwell off of a building in the background.
When Bella pulls into the school the first day you can see the boom reflection in her truck window.
In the scene where Bella is next to her truck the day after the "accident", you can see the mic in the reflection of the truck window. You can see it several times during this scene-as Mike walks up and asks Bella to Prom.

VI. AUDIO / VISUAL UNSYNCHRONIZED (1 Goof)
In the scene where Edward plays Bella's Lullaby on the piano if you watch his left hand you see he is not playing all the chords that you can hear.

VII. CONTINUITY (35 Goofs)
When Bella confronts Edward in the forest, the flap on his right shoulder of his jacket is buttoned down, then unbuttoned, then buttoned again.
Throughout the film, dark roots appear and disappear from Rosalie's hair.
When Bella confronts Edward, her red book bag on the left of the screen seems to flip and move around in different shots.
When Bella first sits next to Edward in biology and he visibly recoils, two samples are on their shared desk. Edward nudges one towards her and pulls the other towards himself. In the next shot, they're next to each other in the center of the desk.
In the meadow, Edward and Bella are lying very closely together at first. When the camera angle switches, they are suddenly farther apart.
As Bella and Edward's fathers are at the second crime scene, Bella asks Edward to turn in to park up. The car moves right to turn in, then the next shot is the car still in lane, and hasn't moved right yet.
In the baseball scene when Carlisle hits ball, you can see Edward and Emmett start to run after it. But, after the close-ups of their faces, they start to run again.
When Bella is searching for information about creatures with the same characteristics as Edward's, you can see some information about Apontamkin (The Cold One: Apontamkin). In the next web page, the creature's/god's name is Apontampkin.
When the Cullens are playing baseball, Rosalie slides into home. When she stands up, there is a large stain on the right side of her white pants from the slide. Later, when they are in the garage getting into the various cars to run from James, Rosalie turns away, and her pants are unstained.
In the diner when Bella and her dad are eating, the label on the A1 bottle faces away from Bella's dad then towards then away in the same scene.
The dent in the back fender of Bella's truck changes size a lot throughout the movie.
When Rosalie, Emmett, and Edward are leading the tracker away, Rosalie's hair is curled when they leave the garage, then frizzy when she rubs the jacket on the tree, then curled again when they realize the tracker changed course.
After Edward reveals himself in the sunlight and tries to frighten Bella, he jumps into a tree. Bella walks under the tree and leans up towards him, while he leans forward towards her. In the close ups they are maybe 6 inches apart, his face beneath his arms, but in the wide shots his face is above his arms, and their faces are a couple feet apart.
In the scene where Edward and Bella are talking outside in the rain, when the shot moves from slightly further away to close up, Edward's facial expression is obviously different.
In biology class, the owl behind Edward changes position through both scenes.
In the garage scene Edward closes the car trunk twice.
When Bella is in gym and the ball comes toward her she hits it straight to the side. When it hits Mike in the back of the head the ball comes from above, as though it were thrown at an angle.
In the first lunchroom scene Bella's arms go from folded to in front of her between shots.
In the hospital scene in Phoenix, Bella's oxygen tubes change location throughout the scene. When it is a close up, the tubes follow the line of her cheekbones, and when the camera zooms out the tubes are lower down, halfway between her eyes and mouth.
When Edward slides his arm under Bella in the parking lot scene, where he pushes the car away, Bella's hair is inside her coat, than outside, then in again. It looks like the stunt double had her hair out and Kristen had her's inside her coat.
Throughout the film, Esme's name is pronounced differently by Edward. When Edward is telling Bella that he and then Esme were changed by Carlisle, he pronounces her name as "Ez-mee", but when he is introducing Bella to his family in their kitchen, he pronounces her name as "Ez-may".
In the first scene, with the little deer, you can see that it's not the same animal. The first one, drinking water, has a dark and white tail and then, when it is running, it changes to a deer with a dark tail only, with no white fur.
When Edward first brings Bella to the Cullen's house, we see that there is a two car garage on the entrance level. In the garage scene, however, we clearly see three cars parked in the garage: Emmett's Jeep, Rosalie's convertible, and Carlisle's sedan.
In the scene in which Edward and Bella are dancing in the gazebo, when the two dancing couples stop dancing and leave, one couple walks down the steps to the side walk, the frame changes and they walk down the steps again.
In the driving scene in Port Angeles, Edward speeds into oncoming traffic, but while in the car the outside background moves at a very slow speed. Then when an outside shot of the car zips around other cars on the street it is at very fast speeds.
In the forest scene where Edward jumps off to a tree, he leans closer to Bella's face when she asks why he hated her so much when they met. When he answers, Edward is shown sitting straight up (and far from Bella) to deliver his first sentence of "I did, only for making me want you so badly." The next sentence, Edward is seen leaning over closer again to utter his next line of "I'm still not sure if I can control myself."
When Bella pulls into the school lot her first day, Tyler is sitting there with a hoodie on. When he says "Nice ride," he has a vest over his hoodie. The shot pulls out again, and he has no vest on.
In the car scene where Jasper and Alice are taking Bella to Arizona, you see the car driving through California hills/savannah and then when the camera is zoomed into Bella in the backseat, you see Oregon forest in the car's rear window.
In the garage scene, Jasper is seen bent over in the background putting things in the trunk of the car. When the scene switches to a close-up of Alice, Jasper is standing upright and looking in Alice's direction.
In the first cafeteria scene right after Mike falls and right before Jessica scoots closer to Bella you can see Jessica bend over and her face is in the bottom left side of the screen. Then the shot changes and she moves next to Bella.
After Bella's accident in the school parking lot, the overhead shot shows Angela running and kneeling beside Tyler's van; when the shot moves to ground level, you see Angela run in and kneel down again.
In the biology classroom, a stuffed armadillo on the shelf in the background appears and disappears between scenes.
When Bella asks where Edward is in the hospital, it pans to a brief shot of Edward slumped against the wall, with his head facing towards Bella. In further scenes he is still slumped against the wall, but his head is facing the opposite direction. The picture behind him and the lamp on the table beside him also move.
During the scene in the ballet school, immediately after James bites Bella's wrist, she isn't wearing her bracelet. However, every subsequent time we see the bite, at least part of the bracelet is visible.
The 'Romeo and Juliet' book on Bella's pillow disappears between shots.

VIII. INCORRECTLY REGARDED AS GOOFS
Vampires sparkle when exposed to the sun. When Edward and Bella come to school, he is wearing sunglasses, which would not be necessary if he was trying to avoid the sun. However, it's clear he is wearing them as a fashion accessory, and to make his skin look paler. It's also why the Cullens usually wear dark clothing.
When Bella is confronting Edward about being a vampire, there are what appears to be visible bite marks on the left side of his neck. However, these are moles, not bite marks.
There's a scene where Edward and Bella are talking in the forest, it's raining heavily and they are soaking wet. Soon after they are shown talking in another forest location, and appear to be completely dry. This could, however, indicate the passage of time, especially given their change of clothes. It is therefore assumed that their conversation takes place over several days.
In the garage, Edward asks Rosalie and Esme to put on Bella's clothing to mislead the tracker. Edward throws clothes towards Esme. Esme was in the scene for quite a while, getting stuff in the background. She was just out of frame when he addressed her.
In the garage, Rosalie and Emmett put their belongings in Emmett's jeep and get in. In the next shot, the jeep is no longer in the garage, and Rosalie's convertible and Carlisle's Mercedes are driving off. However, the jeep hasn't left the garage, it's just out of frame in the next shot. Esme takes Rosalie's convertible, which is why it leaves at the same time as Carlisle's Mercedes.
Edward says in the movie that vampires never sleep. When Bella wakes up in the hospital, he appears to be sleeping. He was pretending to sleep in order to appear normal, and to give Bella and her mom privacy to talk.
In the very last scene, Victoria turns to leave the balcony overlooking the gazebo where Bella and Edward are dancing, with her hair tied up. As the camera cuts to her leaving down the stairs, her hair is flowing behind her. Victoria pulled out her hair pin at the top of the stairs.
In the scene where Bella goes to the ballet studio to give herself up for her mother, James the vampire is visible in all of the mirrors. As the legend goes, vampires' reflections are not supposed to be seen in mirrors. Yet both the movie and books often diverge from traditional vampiric legends, such as mirror reflections, burning in sunlight, wooden stakes, repelling from crosses, and so on.
When Charlie takes Bella to her room, you see three naked Barbies: one on her desk under the bulletin board, and two are on the wall behind her, near the bulletin board. As the movie progresses, they disappear. As Bella makes the room her own, she is going to move things around, including the Barbies.
After Edward saves Bella from the car crash, she overhears him, Carlisle, and Rosalie talking in the hospital. Vampires usually talk so fast and low that human ears cannot understand them, but they can also talk slowly and quietly. They were talking "human" because other people were around.
After Bella is out of the hospital she still wears a leg brace when she is heading to prom. But she doesn't have any bandage or mark on her right arm from when she was bitten. However, the venom that changes human to vampire heals the body in that process, thus also the skin. There might be a scar, but the wound would certainly be healed well enough for Bella to go without bandages.
When Jacob confronts Bella at the prom, she is wearing her dress. A few shots later, when Edward cuts in, she is wearing a sweater. If you watch Edward closely, he is holding her sweater, then drapes it over her shoulders before turning away from Jacob.
When Edward is lying next to Bella on her bed, moonlight (sunlight reflected off the moon) is coming in through her window and hitting his face, chest, and hand, but they are not sparkling. However, this could be because Edward is not in *direct* sunlight, therefore it has no effect on him.
When Bella and Edward first meet in science class they are examining the stages of Mitosis. The correct order of stages is prophase, metaphase, anaphase and telophase, but Edward mentions anaphase coming before metaphase when he looks into the microscope for the third time. However, they have clearly been provided with prepared slides and are told to "separate and label them into the phases of Mitosis," so Edward was not identifying the order of the phases, but which one he was currently looking at.
The second time Alice pitches to both Rosalie and Jasper, the runner is running from second base before she throws the ball. After both have hit the ball, the runner is just leaving second base. However, Esme states at the start of the games that "she knows they cheat", so this could just be an example of them cheating.
When Edward is in Bella's house, waiting with Charlie to take Bella to the prom, he has a glass of water. When the two men move to see Bella come down the stairs, it is thought that Edward is carrying his glass of water. However, it is actually a corsage in a plastic case.
Eric is passing out fliers for their upcoming prom. Eric and all his friends in the circle are Juniors (as stated in the book). They are planning to attend their Junior Prom. However, the fliers Eric is passing out say Senior Prom. Almost always in High School the prom is the "Senior Prom" - but open to Juniors and Seniors. There would not be a separate prom for Juniors, however, traditionally, the Junior class hosts the prom for the Senior class - as a sort of "farewell party." So, the fact that a Junior is distributing fliers for an event called the "Senior Prom" would be fairly in line with HS tradition in the US.
In the hotel room, when Alice has the vision of James in the mirror room, light is shining in through the window. They're in Phoenix, where it's sunny, so they should be sparkling. However, later in the movie when Bella goes to meet James in the studio, it is clearly visible that its night. Therefore, it must have been the moon and not the sun shining down on them.
In the first gym scene, a girl who looks about 6 years old is running around in the background. However, many high schools also have a pre-school in the same area, especially if they teach child development and childcare, or health and social care.
Bella starts school in March. A few weeks pass before Billy and Jacob come over "to watch the Mariners game," meaning baseball season has started. Later, when Bella is talking to her mom, she says Phil is still in spring training. Minor League spring training ends in March, before the Major League baseball season, but it is possible that Phil is still in Spring Training as some players participate in a team's "extended spring training" before joining one of the organizations minor league teams during the season.
In the cafeteria scene "edible art" Bella is eating something when discussing "La Push" then, in the next scene she seen at the salad bar preparing her lunch. However, Bella was only eating a cucumber slice, which she could have easily gotten from a friend's lunch.
When Bella is running away if you look very closely when she opens her bedroom door you see Edward standing to the side waiting for her. However, in the book it is explained that in Edward's fear he climbs into her window to help her pack and figure out what she is going to say to Charlie.
In the scenes at the Prom, Bella initially is carrying a clutch purse, which changes to a drink midway through the dance hall. When she is outside with Edward, she is not carrying anything. However, in many proms and dances in high school, you can check in your items at the start of the dance, like shoes and purses, so it would make sense for her to have a glass at one point, and then nothing at all later.
When Bella visits the Cullen family for the first time, she and Edward listen to a recording of Claude Debussy's "Clair de Lune", but it is in the wrong key. The recording they listen to is in D Major, when "Clair de Lune" is in fact in D-flat Major.
When Edward speeds into the intersection after saving Bella in Port Angeles, you can see that the car's front license plate is from Washington, but the back is from Oregon. However, a car can drive from one state to another.
When Bella is with Edward in Port Angeles she has a red purse with her. When he drops her off at the police station she does not take her purse with her. However, Bella may have just left her purse in Edward's car in the rush and commotion. It happens all the time in real life.
In the scene where Edward passes Billy and Jacob on the road, Billy is driving. Billy is paralyzed from the waist down, he wouldn't be able to operate the pedals, and therefore couldn't drive. However, cars and trucks that drive with a gas button operated by hand are widely available. It is perfectly plausible that Billy Black has one such truck.
When Charlie and Bella pull up to the house in the beginning, there is a small truck parked beside the driveway, but it is blue. Bella's truck, which Billy and Jack arrive with, is red and much older than the blue truck.

JR's MOVIE REVIEW

RATING BREAKDOWN:
Movie Plot = 19/20
Portrayal of Characters = 16/20
Graphics and Special Effects = 17/20
Public Popularity Hit = 14/30
Minimal Goofs = 4/10
Total Movie Score: 70/100

AVERAGE STAR RATING: 7 out of 10 Stars
☆

I. MOVIE PLOT (19/20)
This movie was basically based on the book Twilight which was authored by Stephanie Meyer. Being one of the newest epic Vampire Films, Twilight's movie plot is known to many especially to Twilight novel fans. The movie was truly according to the author's perspectives as it was also Stephanie Meyer who volunteered to be part of the movie's production and directing workers. JR is also a fan of Twilight, the first movie, as it has truly an amazing movie plot especially when it comes to the chemistry between a human and a vampire.

II.  PORTRAYAL OF CHARACTERS (16/20)
One of, what I think, as the most recognizable cast member in the movie was Kristen Stewart. She truly showed the Bella character in the Twilight novels to life. There was no doubt that she will continue on becoming one of the world's best when it comes to acting. Also, there was a lot of recognizable new actors and actresses to the eyes of movie viewers which includes Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, and Ashley Greene.

III. GRAPHICS AND SPECIAL EFFECTS (17/30)
This movie did (and I mean did) use a lot of Special Effects. Two of I think best special effects in the film was the superhuman strength of Edward Cullen shown through his defensing Bella at a speeding car, and the flying speed ability of Edward Cullen shown through his fast approach to nature. The movie can be truly given a thumbs up for using Special Effects that are really a must-learn for all movie makers.

IV. PUBLIC POPULARITY HIT (19/20)
Twilight is, what I believe, as the Most Popular Vampire Movie of All Time. In the Internet Movie Database, Twilight got an average grade of 5.6 out of a possible 10 which was scored by a total of 127,921 Internet Movie Database members. In Metacritic.com, it scored 56/100 which has a huge difference of 44. Also, as we can see in the Box Office Mojo, it was graded an A by 1,345 (47.7% of Total Voters) Box Office Mojo members. Other grades in the Box Office Mojo are as follows: [B = 599 (21.2%); C = 328 (11.6%); D = 146 (5.2%); F = 404 (14.3%)]. Also, its public popularity is truly evident by its high box office gross of $392,616,625

V. MINIMAL GOOFS (4/10)
The movie has a total of 73 Goofs according to the Internet Movie Database. To get the score for the Minimal Goofs, JR divided the total number of goofs to the total number of minutes the film has in total. The tabulated total will then be multiplied by 10; and the product will be subtracted from 10 to get the final score. So, 108 divided by 121 minutes is 60.83%. The minimal goof score is then 4 out of a possible 10.

VI. General Reaction
Twilight is one of the most criticized film of the past decade (2000 - 2010). It received a lot of negative comments especially from movie critics and movie analysts. Though it failed from the minds of a lot of critics, Twilight, succeeded in the hearts of the movie viewers especially for teenagers. Me, myself, watched the movie and became enthusiastic with the following movies of the series.
