A WACKY MOMENT WITH MY FRIENDS
Photo Posted at: Facebook.com (24 September 2010)

And finally, my most favorite photo of 2010. Even though this photo has not much of a celebration or event, it always reminds me of my best friends in school. In the photo are (from left to right) Trevor Lim, John Aaron Go, Jean Clarence Cariaga, Andrea Sanchez, me, Rachel Villanueva and Pamela Villanueva.

JR's 2ND FAVORITE PHOTO OF 2010:
PINOY-KOREAN BUDDY INTERACTION
Photo Posted at: Facebook.com (16 January 2010)

This is my 2nd Favorite Photo of the Year 2010. Saint Louis University - Laboratory High School has a lot of activities. When I say a lot, I really mean it. One of these activities was the 2010 Pinoy - Korean Buddy Interaction. This was actually my 2nd year to have a Korean Buddy in class. Being selected as a Filipino buddy of a Korean exchange student in school, it was difficult to help them with the school's status quo because they were really confused on what to do. During the span of their being in school, there was one day when the Korean exchange students were given the opportunity to go to our homes and experience being in a Filipino family, they literally gone to our homes and learned what it is to be part of a Filipino family. This was actually my most memorable event of 2010 since I had a lot of new friends, not just the Korean buddies, but also the some of the freshmen in school. This photo was taken last 16 January 2010 where we are all having our afternoon snack. I would really never forget this last time I will be having a Korean buddy who would also recognize you as a friend of his own.

JR's 3RD FAVORITE PHOTO OF 2010:
SHOTS PARTY PHOTO
Photo Posted at: Facebook.com (26 June 2010)

School always gets tough at times we really don't realize it. Earlier last year, SLU-LHS had its annual Student Body elections (otherwise known as the SANAMA elections). During the campaign period of last year's Student Body elections, our party had a little argument situation especially with regards to our year level. Each of us in a way tried our best to solve the problem our party has since this would really improve the party's success in terms of the student campaign and student's voting decisions. In the end, all of us offered and accepted forgiveness to remove all the different hard feelings we have for each other. Now, we can see that there really is an upgrade with us, the SANAMA, comparing it with us during the campaign period.

JR's 4TH FAVORITE PHOTO OF 2010:
BUWAN NG WIKA CLASS PHOTO
Photo Posted at: Facebook.com (06 August 2010)

Last August 2010, the whole Philippines celebrated its yearly Buwan ng Wika which is in recognition of Manuel Quezon's contribution to our National Language - Filipino. During this month, the whole class was required to wear any Filipino costumes and attires of their choice to at least be "in" with the event. This photo was taken during our dismissal time last 06 August 2010 to always help us remember of our 3Science Family who was in the mood to celebrate the Month of our Language.

JR's 5TH FAVORITE PHOTO OF 2010:
2010 SAYAWIT MEMORIES
Photo Posted at: Facebook.com (13 September 2010)

This photo is about us showing our happiness after our hardworked presentation for our Sayawit quiz in Geometry. Being a quiz, all of us took the sacrifice of giving up our own individual times of rest for the success of the presentation. My classmates were really the ones who did well in this activity since they were also the ones who performed in the Year Level Sayawit competition. Not only that, they were also the ones who grabbed the second best performance in our batch. But, I, in my own perspective, think that my classmates are the real winners in the Year Level Sayawit competition because they were the ones who worked hard and practiced hard unlike the other section who won just by a "stupid" time limit rule. But thank God, they were still the ones who got the real recognition in the Culminating Activity.

SAINT LOUIS UNIVERSITY
HISTORY PHOTOBLOG

1907
The CICM Missionaries arrived in the Philippines, mandated by the Holy See to evangelize the northern part of the country. Pretty soon, it became apparent that Baguio, then a small mountain village resort in the province of Benguet, around two hundred and fifty kilometers north of Manila, will be pivotal for the region. With an elevation of at least 1,500 meters above sea level, Baguio is a natural gateway to and from the Cordillera mountain range, which traverses the Mountain Provinces (Montanosa), the home of numeours indigenous tribes.

1911
Fr. Serafino Devesse, CICM, first conceived a primary class with ten students huddled in a small wooden house, on the present-day Cathedral Hill.

1915
The intermediate grades and a trade school were started under the guidance of Florimond Carlu.

1921
The first year high school was offered.
1928
A full secondary course was offered.

1938
The CICM Fathers envisioned the prospect of more students for the school, being the first private school in Baguio City. In anticipation of this, they built another school edifice on Cathedral Hill to house the elementary and high school departments. This was made the main Saint Louis University.

1938
Campo Filipino School was made a branch of Saint Louis University. Campo Filipino was changed into Holy Family College and her curricula were extended to collegiate normal and secretarial courses with special emphasis on music, painting, and fine arts.

1941
Saint Louis University was temporarily closed during the war outbreak. It later resumed classes during the occupation days with the permission of the Japanese.
June 1945
Saint Louis University picked up its energy and pace, and once more admitted students from the ruins of war. The elementary department opened immediately after the war. The high school promptly accepted students in the following year.

1951
The high school boys were placed under the direct supervision of the Sisters of Missionary Canonesses of Saint Augustine.
1952
Saint Louis School became Saint Louis College. The founders were Msgr. William Brasseur, Vicar Apostolic of the Mountain Provinces and rev. Rafael Desmedt. Rec. Gerard Decaesa

1960
The construction of the new Saint Louis University Building started at Bonifacio Street. The large and beautiful edifice - a multil-storey building started its operation in 1961. Bonifacio Street is now known as the "Baguio's Smartest Address".

May 13, 1963
Saint Louis College was conferred University status by the Philippine Government which was under the leadership of President Diosdado Macapagal.

1966
The Elementary Department of Saint Louis University started its operations.

March 21, 1997
Bishop William Brasseur, CICM, described SLU as the "Light of the North."

2010
SLU Maryheights Campus was build as a legacy to Baguio City.

2011
Saint Louis University will be having its Centennial Celebration.

SLU PRESIDENTS

SLU, THROUGH THE YEARS:
Through the years that passed, it was really proven that Saint Louis University is an independent nation that helps student integrate their own knowledge and values for the betterment of the world. If it was not for Father Serafino Devesse, then Saint Louis University is still in the imagination of all individuals.

Saint Louis University is the 13th Oldest University in the Whole Philippines...

and also the 2nd Best University Outside Metro Manila.

Saint Louis University, JR hopes you're history will still prosper and continue in the future.
