"We Do Not Sow"

"There is only one war that matters, The Great War. And it is here."
said Jon Snow after showing a Wight to Cersei at King's Landing.

It has been a long way coming, the dead are now bound for Westeros. We had our first glimpse of them at the very first episode when members of the Night's Watch were attacked by the undead. We would visualize how large an army they really are when Samwell Tarly and Brandon Stark would see them at separate instances. This time, Jon Snow with a group of his men are bound to get just one wight to show proof to everyone that the threat is real. Catching the attention of both Queen Daenerys and Queen Cersei, the game towards the Iron Throne would seem to halt in preparation for the Army of the Dead. The question is would they drop arms against each other and instead raise it towards the real enemy. The Great War is bound to happen one way or another.

This season is intense as it builds the foundation for what will be the Long Night in the final season. Scores are settled as House Tyrell and House Martell would meet their demise leaving House Stark, House Targaryen and House Lannister at the game of thrones. If they win this war against the dead, what's to happen next? And how would the entire Westeros handle the reality that Jon Snow is indeed the more valid heir than Daenerys Targaryen and Cersei Lannister? All we can do is wait for these last two wars.

🚩🚩🚩SPOILERS AHEAD 🚩🚩🚩

Here are 7 of my most memorable moments and 5 of the most standout
from the seventh season of Game of Thrones:

✅ Daenerys & Jon First Meeting
- I for one waited for this to happen, the meeting between the Mother of Dragons and the King in the North. Pressure is between two sides that aren't initially in good terms but there is that sort of chemistry you feel when they first meet. Both are trusted leaders who can have a claim on the Iron Throne but there is that want for either of them to be on the throne. Daenerys's stubborn and impulsive demeanor is matched with Jon Snow's calm yet wise conduct.

✅ The Loot Train Attack
- While the battle between Euron's and Yara's fleet is a spectacle (especially when the fire debris would seem like snow), the one when the Lannister army was ambushed by the Dothrakis and Daenerys's dragons is the one I'm highlighting in my review. It's a bit fast but well orchestrated. The one-shot sequence when Bronn runs away from a Dothraki towards the Scorpion is reminiscent of Jon's fight in the Battle of the Bastards, but the later is still better. This scene however is better than the time Daenerys uses her dragons to attack ships at Meereen.

✅ Beyond The Wall
- This is my favorite amongst the entire season. While it was really a stupid idea to catch a wight when they are always in hordes, when Jon Snow and his men are trapped yet able to free themselves from the army of the dead is brilliantly planned. There's no calm before the storm as Jon and his men are enclosed with the dead while also being watched by the White Walkers. Daenerys would be a blessing at the last minute but the lost of one of her dragons was devastating. Everything was a suicide mission but thank the old gods and new for making everyone survive.

✅ Meeting at Dragonpit
- The meeting of Jon Snow, Daenerys and Cersei to discuss plans against the dead was more intense than when Jon Snow and Daenerys met for the very first time. It's like a volcano of chaos just waiting to erupt at the snap of one of those people who are at that meeting. We hear everybody's wisdom, rants and proposals as their participation and understanding is crucial towards the immediate fight against the dead. It's the Great War they are talking about and an agreement is all they have hopes at winning.

✅ Fall of the Wall
- Just when the season is about to end, we see the once impenetrable wall get destroyed by the same dragon that Daenerys brought to life. The White Walkers are now journeying south of Westeros to conquer the living. It feels like a hopeless moment but when the living is united and prepared then there's always a chance.

✅ Daenerys & Jon Sex
- It might be weird to have this be placed on my memorable moments but why I mentioned it was due to how it was shown at the same time Sam and Bran were talking of the true name and lineage of Jon Snow. It might seem romantic and the desire for Jon Snow and Dany to be together is there but knowing they are relatives is another story.

✅ Littlefinger's Trial and Death
- I waited from the first season for this to happen. Just like Cersei, Lord Baelish or Littlefinger is another of those "love to hate" characters. After successive betrayals and schemes, it was but proper for him to be executed as well. Sansa would scheme him in what's suppose to be a fight between her sister. Arya gets the chance to slit the hell out of that individual and it really feels so good.

➕Vladimir Furdik (Night King)
- This creature is the stuff of legends and nightmares. The very definition of "for the night is dark and full of terrors." He rises dead men back to life making an impossible opponent to the people of Westeros. What's more terrifying is how silent he is throughout the whole affair all the more making his intentions and motivations mysterious.

In addition to the Night King, while it seems proper that Jon Snow, Cersei Lannister and Daenerys Targaryen are worth to be mentioned, I'll give it to some side or minor characters who never got the mention treatment at my former reviews.

➕Kristofer Hivju (Tormund Giantsbane)
- Tormund was initially an enemy for Jon Snow but now he is an ally bringing in wildling culture to the Northerners. He is a likeable fellow who knacks in humor and wit at unlikely and most serious of moments. Everytime he sparkles at Brienne is comedy gold. He is one of the people I always look forward to as I watch episodes of Game of Thrones.

➕Liam Cunningham (Ser Davos Seaworth)
- He is now Jon's hand after being the hand to Stannis. What's distinctive about Ser Davos is not his wisdom, not even his origins but rather the accent everytime he talks. It comes in naturally for the character. For every brief moment he is in, there is always an impact to the dialogue he contributes. It isn't really funny but his one-liners are witty. Look forward for his scene with Jon Snow at Jon's first meeting with Queen Daenerys.

➕Rory McCann (Sandor "The Hound" Clegane)
- The Hound's storyline is really complicated. He is deadly but fire puts him a step back. He is serious but his one-liners are at times comedic and also sensible. He served too many lords and even kings but managed to be on course for what's a better objective - the one involving fighting for the living. The amount of "burnt" make-up he has to go through from the first season until this season is worth the praise.

➕Isaac Hempstead Wright (Brandon Stark)
- Bran's persona before and after becoming the Three-Eyed Raven is exemplary. When before he is but a inquisitive kid, now is an adult that see everything from the past, present and sometimes the future. His straight-eye glances are integral to making scenes feel legitimate and unawkward.

Given the chance to rate this season of Game of Thrones,
I'll give it an impressive 9.9/10.
